Brownstein Announces 2018 Shareholder and Attorney Promotions

January 3, 2018 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce 10 promotions, including six new shareholders and four of counsel.

Dan Ackerman counsels the nation’s leading consumer brands on trademark prosecution, licensing, enforcement and litigation. Focusing on complex trademark and copyright law, he works with a number of companies in the consumer product manufacturing, technology and entertainment industries where he handles the acquisition, use and enforcement of rights under U.S. and international trademark and copyright laws.
Erik Jensen, a member of the firm’s Corporate Department and Tax Group, brings a strong business and pragmatic perspective to his practice assisting individuals, businesses and nonprofits with their federal, state and local tax issues. He frequently advises clients in a wide range of industries on tax-efficient structuring for business formations, capitalizations, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and liquidations and provides counsel on a variety of other tax and business needs.
Avi Loewenstein, a member of the firm’s Corporate Department, has developed a body of corporate transactional work with a national reach while rooted in the Colorado community and business sector. He has broad experience counseling clients through mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, leveraged and management buy-out transactions, crafting complex joint ventures and advising companies through the startup process.
Caitlin Quander’s real estate practice spans all areas of development, including land use and entitlements, acquisitions and dispositions, zoning and development disputes and serving as special and general counsel to various governmental and quasi-governmental entities. Her background in civil defense litigation enables her to provide fluid representation for development clients in land use litigation, specifically, 106 actions.
Hillary Steenberge is a member of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Department, specializing in a wide range of environmental, land use and real property issues. She regularly represents clients on complex permitting, development and zoning matters. She also provides strategic legal advice on all aspects of regulatory compliance and enforcement, environmental litigation and contaminated site management.
Martine Wells is an employment litigator whose practice emphasizes wage and hour issues. She is known for cultivating relationships and working in tandem with executive leadership. Clients rely on Wells for her extensive industry knowledge, litigation skills and decade of experience effectively representing her clients pre-trial and through litigation.

Christine Jochim’s practice concentrates on compliance counseling and federal policy, litigation and government enforcement. She advocates for clients in matters arising from a range of energy and environmental regulations and statutes and in navigating complex due diligence transactions.
Laura Langberg litigates complex commercial matters, including disputes over high-value contractual and real property issues. She also represents commercial and gaming clients in a variety of disputes, including intellectual property and defamation matters. She has represented clients in state and federal courts in Nevada and California, and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Travis Norton relies on a wealth of legal and policy experience in both the public and private sectors to provide clients with broad strategic advice and in-depth legal and regulatory analysis. Having served as general counsel to the House Financial Services Committee and as staff director of a Senate Banking Committee subcommittee, Norton focuses much of his practice on financial services regulation.
Nury Yoo has a diverse commercial litigation practice in state and federal courts, as well as before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Her practice also includes federal regulatory compliance before the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Food and Drug Administration. On top of her legal work, Yoo is also part of the firm’s Committee of Associates and Policy Advisors.
