Palo Alto – August 14, 2017 – The Lawyer has again recognized Cooley’s litigation growth and outstanding advocacy in its annual Global Litigation 50 report. Surpassing last year’s numbers, Cooley’s 20% year-over-year increase in litigation department revenue is the third-largest of any firm in the Global 50.
“We’re proud to work with so many of the world’s most successful and innovative companies,” said Mike Attanasio, chair of Cooley’s global litigation department. “Our growth reflects our commitment to achieving high-impact results around the world for our clients.”
The Lawyer highlights Cooley’s London office growth, including the recent arrival of partner Rod Freeman, who works on product launch and liability issues in tech and other sectors, and notes that the UK office’s number of dispute lawyers has increased by a quarter since its 2015 launch.
In a firm spotlight, The Lawyer features the 2016 arrival of international arbitration team in New York as “a very important milestone” for the firm and names Cooley’s work with Tata Steel UK a “standout case.”
Cooley’s global 400-lawyer litigation department represents companies, governments, state entities and individuals in international arbitral disputes of various types involving complex issues of international, foreign and comparative law and procedure.
In 2016, Law360 heralded Cooley as a “go-to” firm, ranking it among the elite US law firms on the publication’s Litigation Powerhouse list.
