Edgewater Networks Expands Portfolio of Intelligent Edges: Combining High Data Throughput, Network Edge Orchestration and Traditional Telephony Interface Connectivity

San Jose, CA – July 26, 2016 – Edgewater Networks, Inc., the market leader in Network Edge Orchestration, announced today the availability of the EdgeMarc 4806 Intelligent Edgesolution. The EdgeMarc 4806 combines traditional telephony interfaces with gigabit data performance and Edgewater Networks’ Intelligent Edge features that include call quality monitoring, security, survivability, traffic shaping, and zero touch provisioning when combined with the EdgeView Service Control Center. The EdgeMarc 4806 Intelligent Edge enables customers to future-proof the transition from legacy technologies to IP-based solutions such as Hosted PBX, SIP trunking, and Unified Communications. The EdgeMarc 4806 Intelligent Edge, along with the previously released EdgeMarc 4808, provides a full suite of legacy LAN and WAN side legacy interfaces – T1, PRI, and FXO/FXS ports. Additionally, it supports gigabit WAN speeds through either dual Ethernet or dual optical interfaces. Every EdgeMarc Intelligent Edge provides full Enterprise Session Border Controller (ESBC) functions, including Quality of Service (QoS) management, stateful firewall, and VoIP security. The EdgeMarc 4806 Intelligent Edge also supports up to 200 concurrent calls and 1,000 registered endpoints. “While the transition to IP-based platforms is happening quickly, Edgewater Networks understands the need to support our customers and partners in delivering a high quality voice experience to the market, regardless of the network technology,” said Dave Norman, Chief Executive Officer of Edgewater Networks, Inc. “The EdgeMarc 4806 Intelligent Edge is exciting because it supports the installed base of traditional PBXs and Key Systems and provides a future path for next generation technologies.” Key features of the EdgeMarc 4806 Intelligent Edge include:
  • A design that reduces capital expenses by supporting both TDM and IP-based technologies and symmetric data rates up to 1GB/sec
  • Support for WAN link redundancy and PSTN fail-over to ensure business continuity
  • SIP trunking certification with major PBX vendors to shorten customer installation times with easy configurations
  • Seamless integration with Edgewater Networks’ EdgeView Service Control Center for simplified management and performance insights that reduce operational expenses and elevate the customer experience
“The launch of the EdgeMarc 4806 Intelligent Edge continues our expansion of multi-service gateway solutions known for delivering best-in-industry security and quality of service (QoS) capabilities,” said Brian Gregory, Sr. Director of Product Management at Edgewater Networks. “This expansion allows service providers the ability to serve a large variety of end customer applications while reducing the overall cost of deployment and support.” To learn more, please visit www.edgewaternetworks.com.
