GREENVILLE, SC – ScanSource Catalyst®, a sales unit of ScanSource, Inc. [NASDAQ: SCSC], and value-added distributor of voice, video and data convergence solutions, today announced a Unified Communications cloud offering powered by the Avaya IP Office™ Platform. This new solution, based on Avaya’s flagship collaboration platform for small and midsize businesses, will be hosted by ViaWest, the leading colocation, managed services, and cloud provider in North America.
Offered through ScanSource Catalyst, this cloud solution enables resellers to deliver the same rich, work-from-anywhere communications experience as if the IP Office Platform were deployed on premise, but in a streamlined, pay-per-user-per-month model.
“ScanSource Catalyst is excited to offer this cloud model for Avaya IP Office,” said Rich Long, president of ScanSource Catalyst. “The combination of Avaya’s leading communications platform for small and midsize businesses and ViaWest’s managed hosting solution will be a powerful offering for our reseller partners looking to implement cloud solutions for their end-user customers.”
In addition, all of the value-adds resellers have come to expect from ScanSource Catalyst will be wrapped into this offering, including pre-sales support, proprietary quoting tools, dedicated sales support, among others. What’s more, through a partnership with Avaya Financial Services, ScanSource Catalyst will also provide leasing options around the remaining on-premise hardware, including Avaya phones, routers and switches, allowing for the entire communication solution to be billed monthly – a significant advantage to customers seeking an operating expense approach to their infrastructure.
“As the market for cloud-based solutions grows, channel partners have a new opportunity to help customers navigate the technologies needed to help their business operate at the top of its game. With the ScanSource Catalyst cloud offer powered by the Avaya IP Office Platform, both resellers and their customers have an industry-leading unified communications solution in a highly flexible, OpEx model,” said Richard Steranka, vice president, Worldwide Channels, Avaya.
“ViaWest is excited to partner with ScanSource and Avaya on this unique Avaya IP Office cloud offering, which gives partners and their customers more choices to meet their ever-increasing business needs,” said Christopher Rajiah, senior vice president of sales and marketing for ViaWest. “This offering expands partners’ solutions set by providing both on-premise and cloud-based alternatives.”
“This new offering through ScanSource Catalyst gives partners like us the freedom to continue to own and manage the relationship with our end-user customer, while also enabling our sales teams to sell and deploy IP Office in the way that best meets our customers’ needs,” said Ed Dolan, executive vice president, DJJ Technologies, a ScanSource Catalyst reseller partner.
