The company will leverage this market expansion to further deploy its industry-leading portfolio of data and Internet services to more enterprises, including its innovative Business Ethernet and Intelligent Network capabilities.
“This network expansion is a powerful incentive for encouraging existing business growth and attracting future development to our community,” said Kennesaw Mayor Mark Mathews. “It’s great to see companies like tw telecom recognize the market need and invest in this kind of technological infrastructure improvement.”
“We look forward to leveraging this network expansion to provide enterprises throughout Atlanta with secure, scalable and predictable network connections that deliver better, faster and easier solutions to move their businesses forward,” said Joel Fye, vice president and general manager, tw telecom Atlanta. “Our industry-leading managed network solutions, such as the Intelligent Network, are now available to companies in Marietta, Kennesaw, and other locations in metropolitan Atlanta that require high bandwidth through secure, scalable, predictable and dynamic network connections.”
The Atlanta expansion is part of a national multi-market effort by the company to expand its metro fiber footprint across the country this year. As part of this effort, tw telecom has already entered into two new markets – Salt Lake City and Richmond, Va. – and plans to enter into three other new markets – Boston, Cleveland and Philadelphia – this year. The company is also accelerating the density of its metro-fiber footprint in more than a third of its existing markets. As a result, the company is expanding its sales force, including sales, support and operations personnel.
tw telecom is the top ranked competitive provider of Business Ethernet and one of the top three providers of Ethernet throughout the U.S., according to leading industry analyst firm Vertical Systems Group.
