Adamo will begin to deploy high-speed Internet in Guriezo before the end of 2020

  • The inhabitants of the municipality will have access to the fastest fiber optics that exists today in the market (1,000 Mbps).
  • Although the town was left out of the original expansion plan, the operator modified it due to the great demand among the population.
  • The company accumulates 58 million euros invested in Cantabria, exceeding the 40 expected in 2017.
  • To the 155,000 homes that it already maintains connected in the region, the company will add another 47,000 throughout 2021 to overcome the 200,000 barrier, as well as 30 more industrial estates.
Guriezo - December 2, 2020 - Guriezo will soon have high-speed Internet access. Thus,  Adamo will begin to deploy the fastest fiber optics that exists in the market (1,000 Mbps) in this Cantabrian population before the end of this year. Support from the municipal corporation The operator has municipal support for the implementation of this infrastructure, seeing that the work of its technicians is facilitated at all times. This support was also evident in the presentation of the new service last week, which was attended by Aitor Gonzalez, Councilor for Telecommunications of the Guriezo City Council, as well as several councilors: Sonia Luperena, María Ángeles Peña and Ángel Fernando Serna. They were joined by David Llano, Adamo's delegate in the area. A flexible expansion plan The company will activate this connection to provide a quality Internet network in a population with high demand. In fact, the company was very aware of this situation and those responsible for deployment included Guriezo in the expansion plan in Cantabria, although originally this was not the case. 100% new infrastructure It should also be noted that it is a municipality that lacked the infrastructure that Adamo uses to deploy in the region, so the entire line will be carried out on its own means. Bet on Cantabria Adamo has a strong presence in many towns in Cantabria. In fact, it is the third autonomous community in which it has developed the most. This bet means that the company has invested 58 million euros in the deployment of the network in the region, having far exceeded the 40 million budgeted in 2017. More than 155,000 connected homes in Cantabria This new fiber optic deployment in Guriezo demonstrates the company's commitment to provide connection to the towns with the fastest fiber available. It should be remembered that Adamo's high-speed Internet network already maintains more than 155,000 homes connected throughout Cantabria. Adamo continues its deployment despite coronavirus In fact, this rate of growth has hardly been influenced by the outbreak of COVID-19: the company brings fiber optics to 5,000 new homes per month in Cantabria despite the pandemic. More than 200,000 households by the end of 2021 Likewise, the operator's forecast is to serve 47,000 more Cantabrian families between January and December next year. Added to the 155,000 already connected, there will be more than 200,000 homes with Adamo's high-speed service by the end of 2021. Advantages of Adamo Fiber Optics Current times - marked by the coronavirus - require telecommunications operators to be able to meet the enormous demand that exists for a quality Internet connection. For this, as already mentioned, Adamo offers the fastest optical fiber on the market (1,000 Mbps), which translates into being able to telecommute with a stable connection, maintain videoconferences without interruptions, and be closer to family and friends who live far away. , have the possibility of accessing education remotely or watching series or enjoying video games  online, among other options. The same opportunities for rural areas The telecommunications company continues its support for connectivity in rural areas. In this sense, Adamo's commitment is clear: to bring fiber optics to all corners of the region, also to historically forgotten environments. Hence, the company has become the reference operator in rural Cantabria, offering service in towns and areas where others do not reach. An example of this philosophy is Guriezo, which does not even reach 2,350 inhabitants. An expansion plan worth 250 million This is possible thanks to an ambitious expansion plan that reaches 250 million euros, the results of which are the already 10,000 kilometers of its own network that Adamo has nationwide and having the necessary technology to connect the rural world, thanks to which Adamo already offers service in 600 municipalities across the country. Adamo collaborates in establishing population in rural areas In this way, the operator collaborates with the development and stabilization of the rural population, thus favoring the competitiveness of those areas that have been losing inhabitants to make them an attractive option to live. At this juncture it is essential not to leave anyone behind. Both those who already reside in villages, towns and small cities and those who, due to circumstances, choose to move to a smaller municipality. Adamo Fiberhood With the precise aim of providing high-speed fiber optics to the most remote areas, the company has an innovative tool:  Adamo Fiberhood . It is a system through which, only with the joint request of 30 neighbors through a simple website, it is enough for the company to deploy fiber optics in their municipality. In this way, Fiberhood is positioned as one of the key instruments that allows Adamo to reach places that other operators cannot,  with each town having its own group. In the case of Guriezo:  https://adamo.es/es/fiberhood/fibra-guriezo. ABOUT ADAMO: Adamo, based in Barcelona, is an operator with a national vocation, but with a regional and local business focus. Present in the Spanish market since 2007, the company gives priority to rural areas and new urban areas with a high population density by providing the fastest optical fiber on the market (1,000 Mbps). EQT, which represents 80% of Adamo, supports its current expansion plan, recently boosted with 250 million euros. Thanks to having its own infrastructure, in addition to the Internet, it provides fixed and mobile telephony customers, as well as services for the business and wholesale market.
