CCA continues engagement with FCC

Written by Joseph Marion | Aug 23, 2019 6:08:48 PM

The CCA today continued its engagement with the Federal Communications Commission to help shape rules around the implementation of the SHAKEN/STIR call authentication framework and proposals for safe harbors that would preclude liability for carriers that block legal, but suspect robocalls.

The CCA filed reply comments with the agency that highlighted substantial agreement among competitive carriers, trade associations and others with the concerns raised in CCA’s initial comments that smaller voice providers not be disadvantaged as the framework is rolled out by major carriers.

CCA will continue to engage with regulators to ensure that the calls from customers of CCA members not be inadvertently blocked in the rush to stop illegal robocalls.

CCA Members can find a copy of the filing in the Members' Portal under Document Resources.   Upon acceptance of the filing by the FCC, we will post a link to non-members as well.
