Justin Cohen Recognized as Young Lawyer of the Year by Denver Bar Association

August 4, 2020 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Justin Cohen, a shareholder in the firm’s Litigation Department, was honored as the Denver Bar Association (DBA)’s 2020 Young Lawyer of the Year. Cohen was recognized for his outstanding record of service and contribution to the DBA and Denver legal community. Cohen has played a leadership role as the second vice president of the DBA and through his involvement with the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) of Colorado, of which he is a past president. He currently leads the Legislative and Public Policy Committee for APABA and serves on the DU Law Alumni Council. Finally, he just finished serving his second term as second vice president of the DBA and previously served on the Colorado Bar Association (CBA) and DBA Nominating committees. This upcoming year, Cohen will serve as the chair of the DBA/CBA Joint Management Committee. In his commercial litigation practice, Cohen counsels clients in disputes concerning contract-based issues, fraud and other business torts, and breach of fiduciary duty. An experienced trial lawyer, he has served as trial counsel in numerous bench and jury trials, arbitrations and administrative hearings. His community involvement also includes extensive pro bono work. He was also recently honored by  ColoradoBiz Magazine as one of its 2020 GenXYZ Top 25 Young Professionals and Top 5 Young Professionals. “The DBA has primarily shown me the numerous ways that I can contribute to the legal community outside of my work, including being involved with industry organizations and local nonprofits,” Cohen said. “I’m continuously grateful and honored to work at an amazing firm, surrounded by excellent colleagues. The DBA has provided yet another outlet for my desire to be around thoughtful leaders and to make an impact within the legal and broader community. Volunteering my time with the DBA and using my legal and leadership skills to give back is the least I can do.”
