Beijing, China – May 5, 2014 –  Nexmo, a leading cloud communication API company, and  21Vianet, the largest carrier-neutral data center service provider in China, today announced a strategic partnership to provide high quality and easy-to-use cloud APIs to the Chinese domestic market that will help Chinese enterprises and developers easily build cloud-based communications products and gain better access to global markets. The announcement was made today at the  2014 GMIC event in Beijing, China. A first in the Chinese market, the partnership creates significant synergies for both companies and a co-branded platform for the domestic Chinese market, and marks a major milestone for Nexmo as it expands the company’s capabilities in Asia. “When we began looking for the right cloud communications partner in China, Nexmo immediately stood out,” said Frank Meng, President, 21Vianet. “Nexmo’s platform, stellar track record and global reach were unmatched. Most importantly, we share Nexmo’s commitment to providing businesses, developers and consumers with the highest-quality cloud communications services.” Under the partnership, Nexmo will have access to 21Vianet’s domestic business-to-business sales resources, which include a significant potential customer pool in China. In addition to its nationwide sales force, 21Vianet will combine its high-quality infrastructure with Nexmo’s best-in-class cloud communication platform and technical support. 21Vianet recently obtained its 4G telecom license in Hong Kong and is in the process of expanding its coverage in Asia, which contribute to the company’s communications scale in China. In addition, Nexmo and 21Vianet have agreed to launch a regional cloud telecom platform, further building 21Vianet's telecommunication assets in the region. The 21Vianet - Nexmo API service will be available as a bundle for 21Vianet customers as well as through a localized co-branded platform, which will be launched this summer. The companies also intend to develop additional value-added services in the near future. “Expanding in China has always been of major strategic importance for Nexmo,” said Nexmo CEO, Tony Jamous. “By partnering with 21Vianet, we are able to offer our services to many more customers in China, with excellent support and resources from the region’s top provider. Further, both companies have just improved the quality of our services, as well as the ability to build out additional localized cloud offerings in the future.” Nexmo’s cloud-to-mobile solutions provide comprehensive cloud APIs enabling app developers, online providers and enterprises to reach customers and devices in any geography around the world via innovative mobile text-messaging and voice experiences. Nexmo’s unique direct-to-carrier approach, adaptive routing and real-time analytics enable unmatched quality of delivery, end-user experience and control over latency, security and cost.
