Oracle PartnerNetwork Hosts Annual Partner Kick Off, Outlines New Strategies and Tools for Continued Partner Success and Growth in the Cloud in FY16

Redwood Shores, Calif.—Jun 23, 2015 - Oracle today welcomed partners from around the globe to its annual Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) kickoff. At the live, virtual event, OPN outlined how it will continue to work with its partner community to help them thrive in the cloud with Oracle in fiscal year 2016. Helping partners capitalize on this opportunity, the company outlined a number of new incentive, training and enablement resources.
“Our partners are under extreme pressure to move and scale to the cloud, all while leveraging existing technology investments, managing costs, and maintaining stringent SLA requirements,” said Joel Borellis, group vice president, Partner Enablement, Oracle. “Our job is to help them manage this process and future-proof their applications in the cloud quickly, securely and cost-effectively. The new cloud programs and incentives we are introducing are designed to do exactly that – giving our partners more choice in how they move to the cloud, while incenting their growth and success in the broad market.” Cloud is one of the fastest growing areas across Oracle’s more than 26,000 partners. In the last quarter alone, Oracle’s cloud resale program grew 180 percent, which was larger than the last three quarters combined. Year over year growth was more than 650 percent. Today, more than 140 ISVs around the globe are already taking advantage of Oracle Cloud Platform offerings for ISVs, including Oracle Database Cloud Services and Oracle Java Cloud Services. The Oracle Cloud Marketplace, which receives thousands of daily visitors, also features more than 450 unique and innovative cloud applications.

New Incentives Reward VADs and VARs for Growth in the Cloud

To amplify Oracle’s reach in the broad marketplace and help partners extend their own opportunities and revenue potential with the cloud, OPN added Oracle Cloud services to Oracle’s value added distributor (VAD) distribution offerings last year. The two-tier distribution model for the Oracle Cloud enables partners to leverage local VADs in their respective markets to take full advantage of Oracle Cloud reselling and implementation services. Effective immediately, the Oracle Cloud resale program will enable both VADs and VARs (Value Added Resellers) to take advantage of new OPN incentive rebates, regardless of the Oracle Cloud technologies they are leveraging, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. This program provides partners the ability to sell multi-year deals, as well as take advantage of renewals and up-sell opportunities to gain ongoing annuity.

Enhanced Enablement Resources Smooth Transition to the Cloud

OPN is announcing several new programs that will enable partners to grow their business and customer value by reselling, developing, integrating and implementing cloud solutions with Oracle’s industry leading cloud application, platform and infrastructure offerings. New Programs include:
  • Oracle Cloud Business Builder: The new single-source website helps partners build their cloud business with Oracle. The site provides partners with information, tutorials, how to guides, videos and multiple resources to help them refer and resell, develop and integrate, and implement and architect Oracle cloud and enabling technologies. More information can be found here.
  • Recognitions for Cloud Excellence: Oracle has added new partner excellence award recognitions for partners, including the Cloud Transformation Global Partner of the Year, Cloud ISV Excellence Award and Oracle Exastack Partner Excellence Award. These acknowledgements recognize partners that are growing their businesses and delivering customer value with Oracle cloud and engineered system technologies.
  • Enhancements to the Oracle Partner Store: As the one stop shop for partner membership, deal registration, and ordering, the Oracle Partner Store has over 400,000 active users from over 30,000 companies worldwide, handling over 300,000 transactions per year. Most recently, Oracle has enhanced the mobile experience of the Partner Store, ensuring partners can easily register key information, regardless of their location or device. In addition to offering more products than ever before, including Oracle SaaS solutions, the site now enables partners to update their registrations with deal size, deal status and close date information – in turn optimizing the rebate, quoting and other processes. Oracle PaaS will also be added to the partner store in July 2015.
