Tom Wotka, a senior policy advisor in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Government Relations Department and Marine Corps veteran, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Mountain Seed Foundation as board treasurer. This veteran-led nonprofit organization provides healing and support to children and families from war-torn regions through a variety of experiential and mountain-based healing programs combined with tailored therapy.

During his two-year term, Wotka will contribute strategic leadership, oversight and accountability to the foundation. His role will focus on supporting policy development, overseeing foundation finances, offering guidance on strategy and assisting with financial and fundraising efforts.

Mountain Seed Foundation’s mission deeply resonates with Wotka, rooted in his experiences as a combat veteran in the Iraq War and his years supporting Ukraine at the U.S. Department of State. Wotka is eager to support the Mountain Seed Foundation’s mission of helping children and families heal, valuing the outdoors as a powerful tool for resilience and growth.

“I have had a lifelong love of the outdoors and understand well the lessons we can learn from overcoming physical and mental challenges presented by the wholly natural,” he said. “I look forward to being involved with this important organization and participating in the healing through climbing camps during the summer.”
