“Let’s solve problems.”
In this Technology Reseller News podcast recorded at Alianza Navigate 2026, Darren Knapp of Grandstream discusses his new role with the company, Grandstream’s expanding portfolio and the opportunity for MSPs and channel partners to take a broader look at the vendor’s capabilities.
Grandstream provides business communications and networking technology, including IP phones, cordless solutions, routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points and other infrastructure products.
Knapp says one of the things that attracted him to Grandstream was the company’s willingness to invest in new areas while allowing him to remain connected to the communications channel.
That includes AI.
Grandstream is beginning to integrate AI directly into endpoints. Knapp demonstrated the company’s new GRP Pro phone, which includes an AI button on its wireless handset. A user can press the button and use voice commands such as “call Doug Green,” allowing the phone to search the directory and place the call automatically.
“It’s simple today, but it’s a taste of what’s coming,” Knapp says.
Grandstream is also exploring capabilities such as real-time translation, caller identification and technologies designed to help users distinguish legitimate communications from scams or AI-generated interactions.
More than endpoints
Knapp says many partners still primarily associate Grandstream with phones and analog telephone adapters, but the company’s portfolio now extends much further.
Partners can deploy PoE switches, access points and communications endpoints while managing multiple device types through Grandstream’s GDMS cloud management platform.
That combination can simplify deployment and management for service providers that want a more unified approach to customer environments.
Grandstream is also continuing to work within the Alianza ecosystem, giving partners additional endpoint choices as they build services for customers.
Knapp says the larger message is that Grandstream wants feedback from the channel.
Rather than simply presenting a fixed product catalog, the company is looking for specific problems partners need solved and evaluating where new products or features can address them.
“There’s a real appetite at Grandstream to solve things,” Knapp says. “Bring us the problem and let’s see what we can do.”
