Podcast: Why Service Providers are ditching paying by the seat when choosing a Unified Communications Platform?

Written by Amy Ralls | Nov 29, 2019 3:46:30 PM

Cloud communications might have one Mad Men era vestige: the seat. Most companies in our industry continue to charge, plan, migrate, move, add and change, all based on a model that counts seats. But according to Jason Byrne, SVP for Products and Marketing at netsapiens, a recent report by Google suggests that three billion people work without “seats”, with something like 41% of the workforce working remote. The steno pool of 1969 is now an open space where teams meet one or two days on campus. Everything from information workers who telecommute to all manner of virtual collaboration, has radically changed the way we work and communicate. Byrne discusses related issues and problems such as oversubscription, and its impact on UC service providers. In this podcast, Byrne outlines some fresh thinking for the road ahead, including a shift to a session-based model. Byrne discusses how netsapiens can help service providers make the change.
