ShoreTel Sky Gains Momentum

According to Leading Analyst Firm GuidelinBrnd_DsgnGd_120602.qxdSUNNYVALE, Calif., February 28, 2013 – According to recent data published by Synergy Research Group [1] on cloud unified communications services, ShoreTel® (NASDAQ: SHOR), the leading provider of brilliantly simple unified communications platforms, including business phone systems, applications, and mobile UC solutions, holds the leading worldwide market position in the Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) private cloud category. ShoreTel has also been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for UCaaS, North America based on ShoreTel’s cloud service offering called ShoreTel Sky. ShoreTel Sky currently ranks first in UCaaS private cloud market share worldwide, a position that it has held for 11 consecutive quarters (Q1 2010 – Q3 2012). In its market share summary report for the third calendar quarter of 2012, Synergy found that ShoreTel maintained its clear market share leadership for UCaaS private cloud and further distanced itself from its nearest competitor. “ShoreTel Sky is the worldwide market leader in the UCaaS private cloud category,” said Jeremy Duke, founder and chief analyst, Synergy Research Group. “ShoreTel Sky leverages highly reliable private networks resulting in a superior service experience, which is consistent with ShoreTel’s focus on ensuring high customer satisfaction.” ShoreTel recently reported that revenues for its cloud services were up 9 percent sequentially for the second quarter of fiscal year 2013, and up 14 percent from the second quarter of 2012. December also marked the strongest month of cloud bookings in the company’s history with 178 new customer additions. “We are pleased with the continued momentum of our cloud business and steady market share gains, which reflect our commitment to offering customers brilliantly simple and flexible UC solutions and business phone systems,” said Keith Nealon, president of ShoreTel’s Cloud Division. “ShoreTel’s cloud growth, along with our strong on-premise business, gives us a unique position in the marketplace. With industry experts estimating that at least 40 percent of the telephony market sales will be cloud solutions by 2015, we are well positioned to take full advantage of the great growth opportunities that exist today.” As further evidence of the momentum behind ShoreTel Sky and hosted PBX services, ShoreTel recently relocated its New York City hub from Chelsea to Midtown. ShoreTel’s new Midtown office (1385 Broadway) represents the essence of the modern workplace: flexible, transparent and open. The new office houses approximately 93 current employees and accommodates the company’s plans for growth, which includes hiring more than 20 new employees in the New York City area over the next several months. The office’s official grand opening will be held on March 6.
