Voxbone Launches New API

Voxbone customers can leverage the new API to connect to local telephone networks from over 50 countries in seconds   SAN FRANCSICO – July 10, 2014 – Voxbone today announced a brand new version of its API. Voxbone is the only licensed telecommunications service provider capable of delivering geographical, mobile and toll-free telephone numbers (often referred to as DIDs or inbound SIP trunks) from over 50 countries with real-time provisioning through an API. Telecom API providers and cloud communications providers leverage Voxbone’s API to automatically tie in telephone numbers and SIP trunks with their communications service. The ordering of similar telephone services with traditional telecommunications service providers usually takes months to deliver. With the current version of its API, Voxbone processes three million calls every month, with 45 percent of its customers using its API for provisioning and service management. In 2013, Voxbone received 40 percent of its DID orders through its API.  Thanks to its API, Voxbone has become the near-exclusive supplier to the telecom API community. Customers in this segment include 2600hz, Plivo, Deutsche Telekom’s Developer Garden and Aculab Cloud. This API is Voxbone’s third release since the company introduced its first API in 2007. The latest version is built on a new development framework that will allow Voxbone to enable more services, faster. It integrates Voxbone’s seven years of experience, and multiple feature requests from existing customers. New features include: Support for XML/REST and JSON/REST (in addition to XML/SOAP)
  • Activation and configuration of value added services
  • Even faster activation of services
  • Increased security
  • CDR retrieval capabilities
“Voxbone launched the first version of its API in 2007, making us the first ‘telecom API.’ This API has been one of the attributes that set us apart from traditional telcos,” said Itay Rosenfeld, CEO of Voxbone. “Given its importance to our business, we invested significant resources to build this new API using a powerful development framework, emphasizing our commitment to remain the telecommunication industry’s point of reference in this area. Besides delivering new features, this new version enables us to bring future services to the market faster.” The new API is available for Voxbone customers as of today. Prior to the launch, it was successfully tested by 30 of Voxbone’s customers during a three-month beta phase.  For more information, please refer to http://www.voxbone.com/services.jsf?category=VoxAPI.
