Company Takes the Stage at OOCUR 20th Annual Conference: Spotlights Advances in Universal Connectivity and Combating Illegal Robocalls and Messaging Fraud

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - October 14, 2025 - The Caribbean’s telecommunications landscape is undergoing a rapid transformation. This year, mobile subscriber penetration is expected to reach 71%, reflecting a surge in broadband access, modernization initiatives and widespread adoption of digital services. For Communications Service Providers (CSPs), regulators and policymakers, this momentum represents both new opportunities and escalating challenges in delivering secure, reliable connectivity to businesses and communities. At the heart of this evolution is trusted communications leader iconectiv, whose operational and security platforms – featured at this year’s Organization of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OOCUR) 20th Annual Conference in Montego Bay – are helping shape a unified and sustainable digital society across the region.

In addition to exhibiting at the event, iconectiv’s Director of Product Management, Bob Grant, will be the featured presenter during two sessions exploring how Caribbean nations can advance universal connectivity and strengthen defenses against fraud in voice and messaging networks.

Grant will speak on two sessions at the conference:

  • “Bridging the Gap: Data, Trust and Policy Innovation in Advancing Universal Connectivity in the Caribbean,” which will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 11:00am-12:00pm, explores how standardized data, trusted identifiers and regional collaboration can help Caribbean nations move from simply building networks to sustaining universal connectivity.
  • “Reclaiming Trust in Caribbean Communications: Regional Strategies to Mitigate Robocalls and Messaging Fraud,” which will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 9:15am-10:15am, will examine strategies to combat robocalls and messaging fraud, from coordinated policies to tools like traceback and caller ID validation.

Both sessions offer actionable insights to strengthen trust, protect consumers and deliver transparent, lasting connectivity across the region.

“Ubiquitous connectivity and trusted communications are critical to the Caribbean’s digital future,” said Peter Ford, Executive Vice President, iconectiv. “By combining data integrity, policy innovation and proven industry practices, Caribbean regulators and CSPs can unlock the full potential of their networks while safeguarding against threats like fraud and messaging abuse. iconectiv is proud to support OOCUR in driving this important dialogue and collaborating on solutions that deliver transparency, resilience and trust.”

In its booth, iconectiv is highlighting several mission-critical solutions that enable CSPs, regulators and ecosystem partners to optimize networks, reduce communications fraud, preserve and conserve energy and improve operational efficiency:

  • TruOps Telecom Routing Administration (TRA). TRA is the authoritative source of routing, numbering and rating data across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and the rest of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). It supports efficient call and message delivery while enabling ecosystem-wide interoperability. To support the Caribbean’s build of its high-speed infrastructure, TRA provides foundational data services that ensure seamless communications between countries, networks and technologies. In addition, TruOps TRA plays an important role in helping mitigate fraud by providing valuable Do Not Originate (DNO) insights to ensure certain phone numbers should not be used to make outbound calls or send texts.
  • TruOps Common Language. From asset management to energy conservation to network optimization, finance, network, operations and procurement teams benefit from improved automation, accurate lifecycle tracking and cost-effective use of spares and replacements. TruOps Common Language provides a standardized nomenclature for equipment, locations, services and virtual functions, enabling CSPs and fiber infrastructure providers to streamline operations, improve data accuracy and improve energy efficiency by identifying dormant assets and detecting network over-engineering, which can cause unnecessary and expensive energy drain.
  • TruNumber Protect. The Communications Fraud Control Association (CFCA) reports that  telecommunications fraud cost the global economy an estimated $38.95 Billion in 2023, with 4 Caribbean countries experiencing the highest fraudulent traffic termination destinations. To stave off increasing communications fraud threats across the telecom landscape, TruNumber Protect delivers real-time phone number intelligence to help CSPs proactively detect and block suspicious calls and texts. By drawing on trusted data sources – from regulators and telecom consortiums to global numbering administrators -- the platform protects revenue and customer trust.
