Mack Carlson Honored by Pacific Coast Business Times as a 2026 40 Under 40 Recipient

Mack Carlson, a shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Natural Resources Department, was recognized by the Pacific Coast Business Times as a 2026 40 Under 40 honoree. Every year, the publication honors 40 emerging business leaders under the age of 40.

Carlson is a dynamic natural resources attorney who advises public agencies, developers and water districts on complex environmental, land use, housing, public law and water law matters. He has developed a detailed understanding of land use, especially related to assisting developers understand and leverage California housing laws to advance residential and mixed-use projects. He guides clients through their development options under various streamlined ministerial permitting pathways under state law. He also serves as assistant legal counsel for the City of Carpinteria.

In his Pacific Coast Business Times profile, Carlson discusses his passion for expanding housing opportunities across California’s Central Coast.

“My hope is to contribute to a future where young professionals, families, teachers, first responders and longtime residents can all afford to live and thrive in the communities they care about,” he told the publication.
