February 20, 2023 - Redcentric today announced the company is now part of the VMware Sovereign Cloud Initiative, and can offer services to customers that align with the VMware Sovereign Cloud Framework. Never has it been more important to ensure that data is secure and for customers needing Sovereign Cloud for highly sensitive public sector and commercial data, knowing that your provider has gone the extra mile to provide that reassurance is a valuable thing. Redcentric’s Sovereign Cloud offering consists of highly secure and compliant private cloud at two dedicated UK-based data centres and a whole spectrum of complementary solutions which ensure end-to-end management, total control, demonstrable sovereignty, and a single point of contact to maintain accountability. “There is no data sovereignty without cloud sovereignty. And sovereignty does not have to come at the expense of cloud innovation,” said Rajeev Bhardwaj, vice president, cloud provider platform solutions, VMware. “VMware Sovereign Cloud providers such as Redcentric can help customers innovate and drive digital transformation while reducing the risk of unlocking the value of data.” Aligning with the VMware Sovereign Cloud framework requires specific levels of security which entail significant investment in physical sites, infrastructure, processes, and security vetted staff which can quickly become cost-prohibitive for an enterprise acting independently. Maintaining those levels of security, whilst also being able to respond to new regulations and undergo rigorous audits are all part and parcel of providing sovereign cloud. The VMware Sovereign Cloud initiative helps customers engage with trusted national cloud service providers to meet geo-specific requirements around data sovereignty and jurisdictional control; data access and integrity; data security and compliance; data independence and mobility; and data analytics and innovation. VMware Sovereign Cloud partners offer key sovereign capabilities to enable classified data to be  protected, compliant, and resident within the national territory and subject to the laws of that country. Redcentric has set out its stall to ensure that its investment is focused on customer needs. Adopting the VMware Sovereign Cloud framework is in addition to its recent series of acquisitions delivering on customer and market demands. Recently  Redcentric played a critical role in quickly migrating two customers in the healthcare sector to their sovereign cloud, after marketplace changes meant a speedy migration to a trusted sovereign cloud provider was needed. As one recent customer said, “Since the start of our engagement with Redcentric, they have brought professionalism, a willingness to work with us and their expertise. The first couple of meetings with them blew my socks off. They were amazing.” Steve Bauer, COO, DXS. “When it comes to meeting the needs of customers who work in highly regulated industries you need to be able to rely on a trusted provider who can ensure your data is secure and compliant with industry regulation. This means hosting data and infrastructure in sovereign cloud,” said Redcentric’s COO, Cem Ahmet. “We’re the first UK provider to align with the VMware Sovereign Cloud initiative which means we can provide customers with that extra assurance we are focused on sovereign cloud best practices.” As the UK’s only provider currently aligned with the VMware sovereign cloud initiative, Redcentric has sought to demonstrate that it is willing to go the extra mile and offer its customers the reassurance they both need and desire from a provider. In the managed services marketplace, which is subject to constant flux and change, the willingness to invest not only in new capabilities for customers, but also to actively demonstrate investment in best practice, is the mark of a provider which is first and foremost a partner to customers.
