Cooley: A Fortune Best Workplace for Women

#1 law firm and #5 overall in the US Palo Alto – September 15, 2017 – For the third consecutive year, Fortune has named Cooley a  Best Workplace for Women. Cooley is again the #1 law firm on the list and ranked #5 overall in the US. “Women hold more than half of the management and executive roles at Cooley,” said Shira Nadich Levin, partner and co-chair of Cooley’s Women’s Initiative alongside partner and co-chair Kay Chandler. “Being named to Fortune’s list for a third year in a row is truly a testament to the value and empowerment of women lawyers and staff at the firm.” The 100 Best Workplaces for Women list is a “best of the best” ranking according to The Great Place to Work Institute, which provides the platform for the survey. The ranking is based on the same employee survey feedback that determines the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list. “No one is arrogant or better than anyone else,” one Cooley employee was quoted as saying in Fortune. “Cooley is a family and everyone feels valuable, no matter who they are.” Another added, “It is clear that the people here are truly comfortable being themselves and being ‘real’ people and that they appreciate the same qualities in the people around them. The diversity of opinion, personalities, ages, backgrounds and lifestyles is refreshing, welcoming and a key reason why we’re successful as a firm.” Earlier this year, Cooley moved up to #25 on Fortune’s  100 Best Companies to Work For list – the highest ranking law firm. Fortune also named Cooley to its Best Workplace lists for Parents, Giving Back, Flexibility and Consulting and Professional Services.
