SUNNYVALE, Calif.--May 08, 2017--StarLeaf, the leading provider of cloud video conferencing and calling, has announced a distribution agreement with ScanSource, Inc., a leading provider of technology products and solutions. This new relationship will expand greatly the reach of StarLeaf solutions throughout the US and Canada. Teaming with StarLeaf gives ScanSource’s reseller partners access to advanced UC cloud solutions, alongside a portfolio of easy-to-use and tightly integrated cloud video meeting solutions. “This new relationship promises to be a powerhouse that fuses our advanced cloud technology and innovation with one of the industry’s most recognized and trusted providers,” said William MacDonald, CTO, StarLeaf. “Together we will enable the reseller community to meet the communication needs of all businesses, from the very large right down to the small.” The ScanSource reseller community will benefit from StarLeaf’s complete portfolio of cloud meeting room, desktop and mobile solutions, alongside a range of services. With this relationship, ScanSource resellers will be able to leverage existing vendor relationships to deliver a unified and robust solution to customers that want to migrate from on-premise infrastructure to the cloud. The StarLeaf OpenCloud allows management and interoperability with all video systems, including Polycom and Cisco. "StarLeaf continues to gain traction in the market,” said Roopam Jain, Director of Conferencing and Collaboration practice at Frost & Sullivan. “This relationship with ScanSource shows just how fast StarLeaf is moving towards becoming the glue that brings everything together, allowing users to call anyone, anywhere, irrespective of the type of their device.” StarLeaf OpenCloud is an advanced platform that offers a rich communications environment and allows users to make and receive point-to-point video calls, as well as schedule and join video conferences. It is unique in its ability to deliver universal connectivity, allowing users of any video equipment to directly call anyone else on any other video system or platform. In this way, a video system registered to OpenCloud can directly call any user of Polycom, Cisco, Avaya, among others. This deep and far-reaching interoperability is fundamental to the longevity of an existing video installation, which may currently only be served by an aging infrastructure and restricted in its calling capabilities. “StarLeaf OpenCloud is key to unlocking new markets for our partners, while also providing a great complement to resellers’ existing infrastructure,” said Rich Long, President of ScanSource Communications. “With StarLeaf, we offer a unique solution that allows us to continue to leverage and enhance our existing vendor relationships and deliver the most comprehensive interoperability available in the market today.” ScanSource is one of the world’s leading and most recognized UC and IT valued brands with extensive experience throughout the traditional voice and video conferencing market. The new relationship with StarLeaf allows ScanSource resellers to address the business need for migration of legacy video systems to the cloud. With the StarLeaf OpenCloud solution, ScanSource can pair any manufacturer’s video endpoint system to deliver a robust unified solution. For more information, please visit www.starleaf.com.
