Brownstein Welcomes Claire Havelda as Of Counsel in its Real Estate Department

November 3, 2022 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Claire Havelda has joined the firm’s Real Estate Department as of counsel in its Denver office. Havelda’s experience in municipal planning and development in Northern Colorado gives her direct insight into the interpretation and application of land use codes, planning and zoning approvals, housing and transportation development, and historic preservation concerns. As a former assistant city attorney for Fort Collins and Loveland, Havelda worked with developers, nonprofit entities, planners and engineers to review complex development projects to ensure compliance with city strategic plans, city code, and state and federal regulatory laws. She drafted and negotiated complex multiparty development agreements and advised the Fort Collins’ Building Review Commission, Land Use Review Commission, Historic Preservation Commission and City Council as well as Loveland’s Affordable Housing Commission, Downtown Development Authority and City Council. “We’re excited to welcome Claire to our department and know that her unique and relevant experience as an assistant city attorney, both in Fort Collins and Loveland, will be a great advantage to our team and clients,” said Nicole Ament, chair of Brownstein’s Real Estate Department. Havelda received her law degree from University of Colorado Law School and her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.
