Nexmo and du Partner to Provide Enhanced, Cloud-Based Communication Services in the United Arab Emirates

San Francisco, CA – April 24, 2014 –  Nexmo, the company that enables enterprises and developers to communicate via cloud services simply and seamlessly with any phone globally, today announced that it has partnered with  du, the Middle East’s fastest growing telecommunications service provider, to deliver high value and business critical services to du’s subscribers through application-to-person (A2P) messaging. Exploding in popularity around the world, A2P communication is used by financial institutions, airlines, hotel booking sites, social networks and more to send messages from company systems to customers. Nexmo’s Cloud-to-Mobile solutions provide easy-to-use Cloud APIs enabling app developers, online providers and enterprises to reach customers and devices globally via innovative mobile messaging and voice experiences. As part of the agreement, Nexmo’s cloud communication offerings will utilize message termination services for A2P traffic. In addition, Nexmo will assist du with messaging fraud and spam prevention. “We are excited to be working with Nexmo to enable cloud-based A2P communications in the United Arab Emirates,” said Khaled Tabbara, Senior Vice President International Carrier Relations, du. “This partnership allows us to increase the value we deliver to our subscribers. With A2P communication becoming an increasingly prominent way for businesses to reach their customers, Nexmo is providing an additional resource that empowers us to meet the ever-evolving needs of our subscribers.” “We are proud to be one of du’s strategic partners and are glad to extend our services in the UAE,” said Nexmo Director of Carrier Relations, David Vigar. “As a powerful direct operator connection, this agreement further establishes Nexmo as a global direct-to-carrier provider, while ensuring that du receives increased revenue from traffic coming into their network. This is also a compelling example for enterprises and over-the-top (OTT) app developers to effectively deliver voice and mobile messaging services to the UAE.” Nexmo’s unique direct-to-carrier approach, adaptive routing and real-time analytics enable unmatched quality of delivery, end-user experience and control over latency, security and cost.  Nexmo also enables fast roll-out of services to any phone worldwide, resulting in unmatched global scale. Nexmo achieved a staggering run rate of over 2.5 billion Cloud API calls that were placed using the service in 2013. Nexmo is the number one enabler of OTT apps, with  approximately 80 percent of the OTT market relying on Nexmo for their communications needs. More at www.nexmo.com and http://du.com/en/default
