Box Unveils New Content Management Tools and Enterprise Licensing Agreement LOS ALTOS, CA--(Marketwire - May 24, 2012) - Box today announced an all new suite of powerful tools for enterprise customers that simplifies the management of content in the cloud. Box has enhanced its admin console with intuitive controls to unlock deeper content insights, enhance security and streamline the entire Box content management experience. Today's advancements provide IT admins with a single, centralized view of their enterprise content operations, powered by Box.
"Enterprises are realizing transformative gains by adopting the cloud, but there is a need for technology that provides deeper visibility, control and data security," said Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box. "That's what today's news is all about: giving IT enterprise-wide visibility into the critical content that powers their businesses. Box will continue to build management features that all our customers -- from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies -- require to be successful." To date, Box has over 11 million users, including 120,000 businesses and 82% of the Fortune 500 sharing and managing business critical information. In the last quarter, Box has added new enterprise brands including Avaya, Lennar Corporation, MGM Resorts International, Netflix, Stanford University, and Webcor Builders to its growing customer base. "Netflix is at the forefront of using the cloud for our streaming service and we believe it's important to carry this strategy over to meet our internal business needs and build a technology infrastructure to revolutionize IT," said Mike Kail, vice president of IT operations at Netflix. "Box is helping us make this vision a reality by combining mobility, the cloud, and security into a powerful platform for collaboration." New Box Enterprise Administrator Tools
  • Advanced Admin Console & Enterprise-wide Search: Available today as a public beta, Box Enterprise admins now have more granular controls and visibility regarding folder and file access from within a single command center in the Box admin console. Additionally, Box has built enterprise-wide search functionality that streamlines content discovery and improves collaboration. Administrators can now quickly search, view and manage files and folders across their entire organization to see how files are shared within and outside of the company, as well as having more security controls over business-critical content. In one simple step, admins can grant or adjust access to content for any user in their company.
  • Enhanced Mobile Security Settings: Smartphones and tablets are essential tools for today's knowledge workers and securing the content on these mobile devices is critical. Box has introduced new, granular mobile security settings to ensure Box content is protected in today's post-PC enterprise. Available today for Android and coming soon for iOS, IT admins can apply passcode locks and enhanced permissions for offline file access across Box's mobile apps.
  • Multiple Email Domain Support: Many companies, especially large enterprises, have users with email addresses from more than one domain. Available today, admins can now provision Box accounts for more than one managed domain, saving an incredible amount of time during the account creation or removal process. Additionally, this feature gives admins the ability to see user activity and set security policies across the enterprise.
  • Activity Notification Archiving: Box is delivering new functionality for the archiving needs of regulated industries like finance and healthcare. As collaboration moves beyond email and onto cloud platforms like Box, enterprise admins can now log Box activities, such as comments, tasks and sharing files, with their existing monitoring systems. These new capabilities support business compliance and eDiscovery requirements.
"The centralized content view and enhanced search capabilities give us the ability to strengthen team collaboration and instantly locate business critical information," said Bob Cohen, vice president of information technology at Cadence Pharmaceuticals. "These new features exemplify Box's commitment to providing the layer of security necessary for our employees to collaborate in a safe and manageable way, while still maintaining an efficient and productive end user experience." New Box Enterprise Licensing Agreement Box has also introduced a new Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) for new and existing customers deploying Box to their entire organization. Available today, the Box ELA offers organizations predictable pricing over the lifetime of a multi-year contract, saving businesses money and simplifying the management of account contracts.
