Acme Packet Net-Net SIP Multimedia-Xpress Integrated into HP Actionable Customer Intelligence Portfolio

Enables IMS solutions that lower costs, reduce complexity, and speed deployment
BEDFORD, MA, February 28, 2012 Acme Packet, the leader in session delivery networks, today announced that the Acme Packet Net-Net SIP Multimedia-Xpress (SMX) will be integrated into the HP Actionable Customer Intelligence portfolio.  By integrating Acme Packet’s Net-Net SMX solution, HP can deploy streamlined IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) solutions that reduce complexity, lower the total cost of ownership, expand scalability, and expedite time-to-market. To help CSPs achieve success in their IMS businesses, Acme Packet Net-Net SMX has been integrated into the HP mobility management solution, HP Home Subscriber Server (HSS).  This connection provides the foundation for a true end-to-end IMS solution.  In addition, there are strong synergies with other parts of HP ACI portfolio, specifically the HP Subscriber, Network and Application Policy (SNAP) solution. The integrated solution easily scales with subscriber growth, lowers capital and operating expenditures, and maintains a centralized subscriber database for all services.  Along with Acme Packet Net-Net Session Director session border controllers, the complete solution delivers secure, interoperable, and reliable IMS communications over IP.  This combination results in an open, efficient, and standards-based solution for delivering end-to-end SIP multimedia services over mobile and fixed line networks. “Powerful handsets and LTE are revolutionizing mobility, yet many IMS deployments are overwhelmed by complexity and are often too costly to quickly scale,” said Dino Di Palma, chief operating officer, Acme Packet.  “The integration of our Net-Net SMX with the powerful HP HSS offering will enable customers to deliver IMS-based services faster, easier and at less cost.” “Service providers must evolve ‘one-size-fits-all’ services into personalized, policy-driven offerings,” said David Sliter, vice president and general manager, Communications and Media Solutions, HP Enterprise Services.  “Integrating Acme Packet and HP HSS solutions enables providers to deliver IMS-based services now, and use HP SNAP to personalize future services.” HP selected the Acme Packet Net-Net SMX product family for its scalability, interoperability with multiple interfaces, and its ability to consolidate up to 10 IMS functions into a single network element.  Net-Net SMX combines core session control with the world’s leading session border controllers, delivering high-value, revenue generating multimedia services, such as presence, messaging and videoconferencing, over IMS.
