Appia Communications Delivers a Simplified PBX in the Cloud

Customers get the ultimate in flexibility with Appia's new offering TRAVERSE CITY, MI - July 16, 2012 - Appia Communications, a leading provider of managed communications and network services, today announced that it is offering virtual PBX services, beginning with the award-winning 3CX phone system. The offering enables customers to install and manage their own phone systems on a secure Appia virtual machine. The g.722 codec has twice the frequency range of standard VoIP codecs. The codec does this while still using the same bandwidth as standard VoIP codecs. "This is perfect for customers who want to manage their own PBXs, but who also want the security and disaster recovery capabilities of the Appia cloud," said Victor von Schlegell, president of Appia Communications. "Along with the virtual PBX, they get to choose their Appia SIP trunks, and phone handsets." "Different customers have different preferences," continued von Schlegell. "With Appia, they can have their phone systems on-site; on a virtual machine; as a physical server in our data center, or they can use Appia Cubed - our hosted phone system."
