Brownstein Announces 2018 Leadership Transitions

January 9, 2018 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce leadership transitions within the firm. Eric Burris will chair the Litigation Department as it further evolves to meet the changing needs of Brownstein’s clients. Since 2013, Eric had served as co-chair of the Litigation Department with Rich Benenson, who recently moved to a new role as a member of Brownstein’s Executive Committee. Eric is known for his presence and success in the courtroom, having represented high-profile clients in the health care, financial services, real estate and other sectors for almost 30 years. Martha Fitzgerald will serve as the firm’s pro bono partner, where she will focus on continuing to enhance and promote Brownstein’s Pro Bono program and culture of giving back. Martha is a litigator with broad experience in municipal, environmental and general commercial litigation. Martha’s own history of pro bono service includes longtime work with the Colorado Lawyers Committee, Metro Volunteers and The Gathering Place, among many other organizations. Mike King will serve as the firm’s new Corporate & Business Department chair, where he will help guide the growth and evolution of the department to ensure it continues to be at the forefront of corporate and business law. Mike has a broad business transactional practice with special emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and general corporate matters, with particular expertise in the health care industry. Gino Maurelli previously served as chair of the Corporate & Business Department. Margaux Trammell will lead the Professional Development Committee as its chair; she replaces Jen Eiteljorg who previously served as chair. In her role, Margaux will promote professional development initiatives for Brownstein employees. Margaux’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, corporate restructuring and general corporate matters. “Eric, Martha, Mike and Margaux are respected leaders who consistently exemplify the firm’s values,” said Adam Agron, managing partner at Brownstein. “We look forward to seeing how their leadership and contributions continue to positively impact Brownstein, our clients and our communities. We are also grateful to Rich, Gino and Jen for their tireless dedication and service to our firm.”
