Brownstein Recognized as Sustained Diversity Champion by Colorado Pledge to Diversity Program

September 17, 2019 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that it will be recognized at the Colorado Pledge to Diversity’s 20th anniversary celebration on Sept. 17 for being a “sustained diversity champion,” acknowledging the firm’s participation in the program for more than 10 years. The Colorado Pledge to Diversity is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the historic under-representation of diverse lawyers in the legal profession. As part of the program, first-year law students from the University of Colorado Law School, the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and the University of Wyoming College of Law are eligible to participate and complete a formal summer clerkship program. “As a 10-plus year supporter, Brownstein knows first-hand the incredible impact that this program has had in building a diverse pipeline of attorneys for our firm and broader legal community,” said Shareholder Ali Metzl, who co-chairs Brownstein’s summer associate program and who founded and co-chairs Brownstein’s Women’s Leadership Initiative and its Committee on Diversity, Inclusion & Equity. “Several of our most successful attorneys have come through this program and for that, we are grateful.” In addition to this accomplishment, the firm is proud of its related recent diversity and inclusion efforts, including achieving  Mansfield Certification from the Diversity Lab for the second consecutive year, ranking  fifth on  The American Lawyer’s list of firms with the highest percentage of female equity partners and being  recognized as one of  Working Mother’s 2019 “Best Law Firms for Women.”
