Client Advisory: Connect Michigan Seeks Data from Voice Providers

Connect Michigan (CM), through its relationship with the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC), recently distributed a Questionnaire to all certified Telecom and registered I-VoIP providers requesting new and updated data to create a database of voice providers in Michigan.  CM's initiative is mandated by §484.2103 of the Michigan Telecommunications.  CM's objective in obtaining data from voice providers is to ensure providers of such services are accurately represented both in the database and on the maps used by state policymakers when developing pro-competition and service deployment, funding and other policies. All providers of voice services in the state of Michigan must comply with a November 30, 2018 deadline to submit data and responses to the Questionnaire.  All providers must respond, even if the response is a notice of the provider's refusal to participate in the data collection. If your company is registered with the MPSC, providing voice services, but did not receive notice and a copy of the Questionnaire from CM, contact Seth Williams at  slw@commlawgroup.com.  Likewise, if you require assistance completing the Questionnaire, contact Seth.
