Cloud Communications Alliance President Appointed to One Consortium Leadership Council, “Fraudulent communications don’t respect borders,” said Joe Marion, President of the CCA. “We’re proud to join the One Consortium in taking a proactive, international approach to protecting users and restoring trust in global communications.”
June 30, 2025 - The Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA) announced today that its President, Joe Marion, has been appointed to the Leadership Council of the One Consortium, a global initiative focused on combating unwanted and fraudulent international communications.
The One Consortium is a not-for-profit organization that brings together the international communications ecosystem—including telecom carriers, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders—to coordinate with National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) in addressing the growing threat of fraudulent and nuisance calls and messages originating from abroad.
“Fraudulent communications don’t respect borders,” said Joe Marion, President of the CCA. “We’re proud to join the One Consortium in taking a proactive, international approach to protecting users and restoring trust in global communications.”
The Leadership Council will be formally installed on July 11 and will include:
- 11 voting members from traffic-carrying companies
- 4 non-voting vendor representatives
- 1 non-voting host representative from i3Forum
- 4 non-voting observers, including Joe Marion, representing industry organizations with formal ties to the Consortium, such as GSMA, ATIS, CCUK, and CCA
“This is a great recognition for the CCA,” added Marion.
The Consortium’s initial focus is on voice communications, with work on messaging fraud prevention launching in parallel. Its goals include:
- Establishing a vendor-neutral global toolbox of technologies and best practices
- Driving adoption of effective solutions across the industry
- Creating a framework for industry self-governance and enforcement
As a representative on the Council, Joe Marion and the CCA will contribute industry insights and advocate for collaborative solutions that protect consumers, empower service providers, and help shape a more secure and trusted global communications environment.
