Employment Litigator Chris Ottele Joins Brownstein

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Chris Ottele will be joining the firm as a shareholder in the Litigation Department. Based in the firm’s Denver office, Ottele will advise employers on workplace issues and employment law disputes and chair the firm’s employment litigation practice.

“Chris is recognized in the market as a go-to for employment litigation and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Brownstein,” said Rich Benenson, Brownstein’s managing partner. “Chris’s extensive experience and leadership will add depth to our employment litigation group and ensures our clients receive the best counsel possible.”

Ottele counsels clients on straightforward, practical ways to minimize and manage legal risks and provides day-to-day advice on compliance with ever-changing employment laws and sensitive workplace situations. He frequently conducts workplace investigations about employee misconduct and advocates for clients in claims involving restrictive covenants, wage and hour issues, discrimination, retaliation and other claims of wrongful termination. When litigation ensues, Ottele fights for clients with zeal and determination, ensuring clients make informed choices about risks and rewards at every stage. He regularly defends class and collective actions. He has practiced throughout the country, handling litigation for sophisticated clients in more than two dozen jurisdictions.

“Chris’s practice focus is designed to help clients’ with some of their most pressing business issues,” said Litigation Department Co-Chair Carrie Johnson.

“Brownstein’s platform allows me to expand my complex employment and litigation work. The firm’s reputation in the market can’t be beat and I’m looking forward to collaborating with the firm’s public policy group,” said Ottele.

Ottele received his bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
