Enghouse Networks to demonstrate innovative SDN solution at TMForum Live

Markham, Ontario – (May 10, 2017) Enghouse Networks is pleased to announce the upcoming advanced solution showcase around the deployment of a single SDN controller for multiple microwave networks in rapidly evolving environments. Enghouse is participating in the OpenMicrowave initiative, where industry-leading equipment vendors, system integrators, and application solution providers are collaborating with several Tier 1 network operators to develop and promote software driven ecosystems for wireless transport. The Aktavara resource management products in the Enghouse OSS suite play a critical role in the OpenMicrowave proof of concept. The key objective for this innovative proof of concept is to enable the transport network to become much more agile and responsive towards new network configurations. “The next generation C-RAN (Cloud RAN) networks will require an agile E2E service provisioning process,” comments Andrew Ruckemann, VP Business Development at Enghouse Networks. “Another important aspect of the project is to have one single network provisioning platform and configuration model for all the different microwave transport equipment in the network.” The Enghouse Aktavara dynamic configuration management module communicates directly with the SDN controller, interpreting a dynamic YANG meta model. YANG is the industry leading description model for virtualized network environments. The Enghouse solution provides critical network optimization by comparing the planned configuration with the live network configuration and providing essential updates. This approach is an industry benchmark for ensuring clear competitive advantage throughout the digital transformation period.
