Environmental Attorney Eric Waeckerlin Joins Brownstein’s Energy & Natural Resources Department

February 11, 2020 - Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck welcomes Eric Waeckerlin to its Energy & Natural Resources Department as a shareholder in its Denver, Colorado, and Cheyenne, Wyoming, offices. A nationally respected environmental lawyer, Waeckerlin has 15 years of experience advising clients throughout the country on complex environmental litigation, enforcement and regulatory matters. He represents clients in major litigation in federal and state courts over critical air quality and other environmental issues affecting numerous industries. Waeckerlin is recognized for his expertise across a wide range of state and federal environmental regulatory programs, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CERCLA, NEPA and their state equivalents. He also frequently represents oil and natural gas clients on a range of high-stakes environmental and regulatory compliance issues, including before the Bureau of Land Management and state oil and gas conservation commissions across the Rocky Mountain West. “Eric’s diverse experience in the environmental sector will serve as a great asset to our clients as we continue to grow our natural resources practice,” said Ryan Smith, chair of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Department. “We are excited to have him join our talented team.” Waeckerlin joins Brownstein from Holland & Hart. He earned his law degree from the University of Montana, his master’s degree from Duke University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming.
