Joseph Drayton Named Private Practitioner of the Year

New York – May 25, 2017 – The Metropolitan Black Bar Association named Cooley litigation partner Joseph Drayton its Private Practitioner of the Year at the organization’s 33rd annual Anniversary Awards Gala. The MBBA is a unified, New York-based association of African-American and other minority lawyers that advances equality and excellence in the pursuit of justice, aid the progress of Blacks and other minorities in the profession, address legal issues affecting the citywide community, and fosters the study of law by encouraging the personal and professional development of young lawyers and law students. Drayton's practice background includes a broad range of intellectual property and complex commercial matters. He is experienced in patent trial lawyer, trusted advisor and counselor focusing on electronic, computer, software, telecommunication and mechanical arts as well as e-commerce businesses. In February, BTI Consulting Group named Drayton to its 2017 Client Service All-Stars list as an MVP. Savoy Magazine recognized him has one of the most influential black lawyers in 2015.
