Masergy's Network Sensor Honored With SDN Award

Company Named 2015 SDN Excellence Winner for Innovation
DALLAS – April 8, 2015 – Masergy Communications Inc., a global leader in managed networking and security services, announced today that TMC has named its network sensor technology a 2015 SDN Excellence Award winner. The award is presented by TMC’s INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine and SDNZone.  Acknowledged for innovation, Masergy’s entry is the first true cloud-based network security sensor. Integrated within Masergy’s Unified Enterprise Security (UES) platform, the network sensor works with Masergy’s existing Cloud Firewall service and is an integral part of the company’s Software Defined Network (SDN) Platform. Most packet monitoring technologies work inside of corporate firewalls, but the network sensor stands out due to its unique ability to inspect network traffic within Masergy’s managed cloud network at the point of entry and exit, providing added protection against advanced cybersecurity threats. “Masergy has been developing software-defined capabilities since the company’s formation,” said Tim Naramore, CTO, Masergy. “Today, this capability is revolutionizing areas such as network security with improved threat detection without requiring additional hardware.  We are honored to be among the distinguished 2015 SDN Excellence Award winners.” “TMC is proud to announce Masergy as a recipient of the 2015 SDN Excellence Award," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. "Network Sensor has demonstrated innovation and it is our pleasure to honor Masergy for their inspiring work.” Winners of the SDN Excellence Award will be published in the April 2015 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
