Sarenet and Gesprodat make it easier for companies to comply with the European NIS2 security regulations

-The process begins with a Gesprodat GAP analysis, a structured procedure that allows companies to identify and correct deficiencies in information security management

-The objective is to eliminate security gaps, improve processes and increase protection against cyber threats, as well as avoid possible regulatory sanctions.

-Sarenet has the SOC (Security Operation Center) service and offers business continuity and contingency plans, solutions for workstations, network access control (NAC) and firewall management

Zamudio - January 28, 2025 - Sarenet (https://www.sarenet.es), the voice and data operator and hosting services for companies, has announced its strategic alliance with Gesprodat, a leading firm in legal advice specialized in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), to offer comprehensive solutions that facilitate companies' compliance with the European Cybersecurity Directive NIS2, the most complex one that has been formalized to date. In fact, the Spanish Government has just published the draft of the Law on Coordination and Governance of Cybersecurity as the first step towards the transposition of NIS2 into national legislation. Member States must communicate the applicable sanctioning regime for non-compliance with NIS2 and, by April 17, 2025, they must have a list of essential and important entities.

This is a comprehensive framework that aims to significantly strengthen the protection of critical information systems and networks throughout the European Union. It affects a wide range of organizations; Among them are 11 “high-criticality sectors” such as energy, banking, financial market infrastructure, health, transport, digital infrastructure, drinking water, wastewater, public administration, ICT service management and space. The programme also includes 7 other sectors considered “critical”, including research, chemistry, food, postal services, digital providers, manufacturing and waste management.

The new Directive, which requires companies to adopt advanced cybersecurity measures, manage incidents efficiently and ensure business continuity, imposes more demanding cybersecurity requirements and mandatory incident reporting.

To ensure that all companies can comply with the new requirements, Sarenet and Gesprodat have reached an agreement that offers the possibility of evaluating the degree of compliance with the NIS2 regulations, as well as defining the actions necessary to achieve the required standards.

Gesprodat GAP analysis

The GAP analysis carried out by Gesprodat is the first key step in improving the information security of companies. This structured process allows for the identification and correction of deficiencies in cybersecurity management, helping organizations, especially medium-sized companies, to strengthen their systems and ensure compliance with regulations such as NIS2.

This GAP analysis provides a clear and structured guide to identify security gaps, improve processes and ensure compliance with NIS2.

Sarenet's experience in cybersecurity solutions

To meet these needs, Sarenet has its own department with a full range of managed cybersecurity solutions, transversal to all the services it provides. In order to comply with the NIS2 regulations, it is worth highlighting the activity of its SOC (Security Operation Center), which is essential, since the European directive places special emphasis on the notification of incidents in a timely manner, which may incur penalties for non-compliance. In addition, it offers business continuity and contingency plans, solutions for workstations, network access control (NAC) and firewall management, requirements that companies must have resolved in order to comply with the regulations.

“Security is an essential pillar for digital transformation. A business continuity plan and a solid risk management framework guarantee the operational resilience of an organization in the event of a cyberattack. Adequate preparation means a faster and more effective recovery from any incident,” says Iñigo Losada, director of Cybersecurity and Client Engineering at Sarenet.

“Collaboration with Gesprodat strengthens our technological solutions, since their legal experience and especially in the GAP analysis of the NIS2 regulation completes the security vision that our clients need in this first phase of adaptation to the regulation, allowing us to guarantee them a global and effective response to any threat,” concludes Aitor Jerez, commercial director of Sarenet.

For her part, Ana González, business development director of Gesprodat, highlights that “the implementation of the NIS2 regulation is a complex challenge for many organizations. Our collaboration with Sarenet allows us to combine our legal experience with cutting-edge technological solutions, guaranteeing a comprehensive approach to regulatory compliance.”

With this alliance, Sarenet and Gesprodat are positioned as strategic partners to accompany companies on their path towards digital security and regulatory compliance, strengthening their competitiveness and resilience in the face of the growing cyberthreat landscape that, according to some estimates, has skyrocketed by 600% since 2020.

With 30 years of experience offering IT solutions to companies, Sarenet has consolidated its position as an integrator of all the IT service needs of any organization with this new initiative.

SARENET S.A.U. (www.sarenet.es) has established itself nationally as one of the main voice and data operators for the business sector.
