SCANSOURCE POS AND BARCODE RECEIVES NEW POINT-TO-POINT ENCRYPTION CERTIFICATION

GREENVILLE, SC – ScanSource POS and Barcode, a leading global provider of automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) and point-of-sale (POS) solutions, and a sales unit of ScanSource, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCSC), today received additional certification from the PCI Security Standards Council allowing Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) certified key injections at its standalone key injection facility. “Very few companies in the United States are P2PE-certified standalone key injection facilities, and we are excited to hold this unique certification,” said Paul Constantine, president of ScanSource POS and Barcode, US and Canada. “We are proud to be able to supply complete product offerings and additional resources to our customers – furthering our commitment to be a total solutions provider.” With this certification, ScanSource is now able to provide key injections at its standalone facility for certified P2PE solution providers. "This allows resellers, processors and other providers to purchase fully configured payment and POS solutions, and have them shipped directly to their end users, simplifying logistics, eliminating costs, and speeding up the delivery. “Becoming P2PE certified allows us to perform key injection services on all related payment terminal hardware, to better provide for our customers with improved service offerings through both our Custom Configuration Center and key injection facility,” said Constantine. A Point-to-Point Encryption solution includes a combination of secure devices, processes and applications that encrypt data from a point of interaction until the data reaches the end-user’s secure environment, offering enhanced security and management of encrypted and decrypted data. This P2PE certification ensures that ScanSource meets all of the necessary requirements for the protection of payment processing data.
