SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Dec. 18, 2018 -- Plantronics (NYSE: PLT), an audio pioneer and unified communications (UC) technology leader, today announced Tom Puorro is joining the company as Executive Vice President, General Manager, Group Systems. In this role, Puorro will lead the team responsible for audio and video collaboration solutions for the modern workplace.

In fact, 74 percent of IT decision makers and professionals say video conference calls have increased over the past two years, signaling a need for simple endpoints. Puorro brings with him 25 years of UC experience, most recently at Cisco in the role of VP, Engineering and VP & GM of the Cisco Unified Communications Technology Group. As the VP, Engineering at Cisco, Puorro oversaw the company’s video and voice endpoints, including all video phones, telepresence, and Tandberg, and led Cisco’s acquisition of BroadSoft.
