SIPPIO Launches AI Connect to Bring Global Voice to Microsoft Foundry
New service lets developers give AI agents the ability to make and receive phone calls in more than 80 countries, with regulatory and compliance handled by SIPPIO.
ANNAPOLIS, MD - October 8, 2026 - SIPPIO, the global voice platform, today announced the launch of AI Connect, a new service that lets developers building in Microsoft Foundry give their AI agents a phone number and a global dial tone.
AI agents are taking on more customer-facing work, but most still can’t do one of the most basic things a business needs: pick up the phone. Connecting AI to the public phone network means dealing with carriers, number provisioning and a patchwork of telecoms regulation covering number ownership and verification, emergency calling, caller ID and data residency. Those rules vary from country to country, and often from state to state, and they change constantly. It’s work most developers lack the specialized expertise for and simply don’t want to take on, yet getting it wrong can stop a product from launching in a market altogether.
AI Connect takes that off their plate. It runs on the same infrastructure SIPPIO uses to deliver calling in Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Webex. SIPPIO’s regulatory and compliance team manages local requirements in every market the company operates in, across more than 80 countries, and tracks changes as they happen. Developers building on AI Connect inherit that coverage from day one, so they can connect an agent built in Microsoft Foundry and have it handling live calls without building their own telecoms stack or becoming telecoms experts, or becoming regulated.
“Voice is the next critical frontier for Artificial Intelligence, but navigating global telecommunications is notoriously complex,” said Adam Cole, CEO of SIPPIO. “With AI Connect, we are giving AI agents a secure, compliant dial tone on a global scale. We’ve already done the heavy lifting on infrastructure and compliance so developers can focus entirely on building incredible, voice-driven AI experiences.”
That opens up a wide range of voice experiences, including:
- Customer service agents that answer inbound calls 24/7, resolve routine requests and pass complex ones to the right person
- Outbound agents that confirm appointments, chase renewals or follow up on orders
- Multilingual agents that serve customers in their own language across markets
- Industry-specific assistants for sectors where the phone is still the main communications channel, such as healthcare, financial services and field services
AI Connect is the first major capability to launch since SIPPIO relaunched its platform as a unified operating system for enterprise communications, designed to let partners and developers add new services quickly as AI changes how businesses communicate.
“The phone number is one of the most trusted ways a business reaches its customers, and until now AI agents have been largely shut out of it,” said Mat Batterbee, Director of Strategic Alliances at SIPPIO. “AI Connect changes that. Businesses can put agents where their customers already are, on the phone, and our partners can build entirely new services around them. This is the start of what we’ll build with Microsoft and the developer community, and we’ve got more to share very soon.”
AI Connect is available in now for developers building in Microsoft Foundry. To learn more, book a meeting at sippio.io/talk.
