Podcast: ScanSource’s Mike Baur sees market driven future

“The market has spoken, and this is a subscription world,” says Mike Baur, Chairman and CEO of ScanSource. In a podcast recorded on the opening night of this year’s ScanSource Partner Summit, Baur gives us a look at his vision for ScanSource and the market for the next five years, while looking back five years to an inflection point for one of the nation’s largest IT distributors. According to Baur, ScanSource realized important changes needed to be made in 2015. In this podcast, Baur discusses those changes, including the acquisition of Intelisys, a burgeoning relationship with the end user community and an embracing to the cloud business model. In the digital transformation, Baur sees selling both devices and connectivity as part of a larger picture. We also learn in this podcast, for the first time, about three new programs: Ignite, Hot Wireless and Fast Lane. Together these are initiatives that help ScanSource’s partner community embrace a cloud communications, customer driven, customer central future.
